Game on. With less than a month to go before the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) announced today the launch of The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth app.

Inspired by The Hobbit trilogy, the game invites players to build a kingdom in Middle-earth, a world filled with Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Wizards. In the game, players develop strategic alliances with other gamers in the hopes of wiping out their enemies.

“We expect The Hobbit Trilogy to be one of the biggest events in entertainment history,” said Greg Ballard, Senior Vice President, Digital Games, WBIE. “The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth provides an interactive way for film fans to engage in the adventure as they explore the characters, conflicts and locations in this epic fantasy world.”

The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth app, developed and operated by Kabam, a top developer of massively multiplayer games, is now available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices. Visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store – mind the great spiders and fell beasts.
