If you live in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), you may notice a few new "characters" appearing in NBA promotional campaigns.
Thanks to a partnership between Warner Bros. Consumer Products EMEA and the NBA, the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA and Looney Tunes Active! brands are uniting for a healthy new initiative. Iconic characters - such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck - will be featured across toys, games, apparel, accessories and more to help encourage children to play basketball and live an active, healthier lifestyle.
The "Cool Characters, Hot Hoops" co-branding partnership was announced recently at Brand Licensing Europe 2013 held in London.
“Looney Tunes Active! has been widely successful in communicating the importance of living an active lifestyle to children,” said Pilar Zulueta, Executive Vice President and General Manager of WBCP EMEA, in the announcement. “The partnership with the NBA provides us with direct access to a vast new audience and an opportunity to leverage our iconic Looney Tunes characters to promote the importance of living an active lifestyle through basketball."
