Ellen Dances Toward Digital Domination
She virtually owns daytime television, is the #1 most-followed TV personality on Twitter, has more than 28 million followers on Instagram, and has an iTunes game The New York Times has called "a sensation". But it looks like that was all just the start for Ellen DeGeneres' growing media empire, as the Emmy®-winning talk show host is diving into the digital content world in a big way.
The Ellen Digital Network was unveiled at the Digital Content NewFronts this week, a complement to DeGeneres' already-successful digital platforms such as ellentube and EllenTV.com. As a collaboration between Ellen Digital Ventures and Warner Bros. Television Group, Ellen Digital Network will produce original, user-generated content across various digital and social platforms, including Snapchat.
The collaboration will also include social media powerhouse Tyler Oakley, and one of the six Ellen Digital Network shows announced, Damn, Daniel Boyz, is an original series featuring Snapchat stars Joshua Holz and Daniel Lara.
