WarnerMedia celebrates International Women’s Day
Every March 8, we recognize International Women’s day – a day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievement of women around the world. Women and men gathered across various WarnerMedia properties to observe the day, dressed from head to toe in purple and doing their part to #balanceforbetter.
One of the events highlighted some very powerful women and influencers from across the WarnerMedia portfolio on how women are faring in the media & entertainment industry. Check out the discussion below.

Hosted by CNN anchor Erin Burnett, The Powerful Women of WarnerMedia Panel included “Game of Thrones” executive producer Bernadette Caulfield, EVP of Marketing & Digital for truTV Puja Vohra, “All-American” executive producer Nkechi Carroll and writer, actress, author and activist Aija Mayrock.

Women@HBO celebrated International Women’s Day with a theme of empowerment. HBO’s VP POS Strategy & Education Carla Moore delivered a rousing keynote, during a live streamed event titled “Passion + Purpose = Power.”
Using a quote from American writer and filmmaker Nora Ephron, HBO put together a video highlighting some of the fierce female characters in their series, including “Game of Thrones, “Westworld, “Insecure” and more, asking women to “make a little trouble.”
HBO’s twitter feed got a big response from their post, asking followers about the most underrated female character of all time.

In honor of International Women’s Day, the business resource group Women of Warner produced a debut series of videos showcasing stories about “Women Who Wow” from employees all around the world.
The WB Careers Instagram social handle asked women at the studio, “What makes a Woman of Warner?”

Turner hosted a number of events worldwide. Activities included:
- Programming, both domestic and international, across all Turner networks featuring content written, produced, directed, and created by women.
- A panel discussion with powerful women and influencers across the WarnerMedia portfolio on how women are faring in the media & entertainment industry.
- Close to 2,000 feminine hygiene products packaged for homeless and underprivileged girls around the world through The Homeless Period Project.
- A runway show in Los Angeles from designer Christian Cowan, inspired by The Powerpuff Girls.
