Winter arrived at New York’s Radio City Music Hall last week with the red carpet premiere party of HBO’s monster hit, “Game of Thrones.”
The final season premiere of “Game of Thrones” is this Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET, but everyone in attendance got to see a sneak peek of the first episode, along with an enormous replica of the Iron Throne – giving Rockefeller Center a much more ominous feel than the holiday cheer that comes with its giant Christmas tree.
Virtually every cast member – including some killed off in past seasons – attended the exclusive event… except for one. Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister on the show, was sick and unable to make it. But in a colorfully-worded Instagram post, she expressed how heartbroken she was to miss the big night and encouraged her fellow cast and crew mates to “ride forth into the night and create mayhem.”
Meanwhile, another unique GoT-themed event is taking place in Belfast, Northern Ireland – where parts of the series were filmed. “Game of Thrones” The Touring Exhibition will give fans a chance to step inside the lands of Westeros and beyond – showcasing authentic props, elaborate costumes and set decorations from the series. Fans can experience King’s Landing, the home of the Night’s Watch, Castle Black, and even the infamous Iron Throne. The exhibition begins April 11 and runs until September 1.
Winter is definitely here, so don’t miss the “Game of Thrones” final season this Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET.
